good morning. welcome to mornings on 2. it's april 7, sunday, and i'm claudine wong. >> and i'm mike mibach. i had the windshield wipers running on the way to work. hey, rosemary. >> good morning to you and a live look over mt. diablo where we picked up a few hundredths, and as mike mentioned, it's still wet. as i sweep in closer and stop the radar, here is the problem. we can't see it on the radar. it's falling below the beam, but it's widespread with mist and drizzle this morning, and it's going to continue for the next few hours before we dry out for sunday afternoon. let me show you here. you can see the moisture on the cloud and rain forecast models. as we get into 12:00 or so, mostly cloudy and while locked into the clouds, have to call

for the possibility of the drizzle. it's not until the afternoon that we finally clear out. for the next few hours, drizzle will be a possibility even though it's tough to see on the radar, it's out there. widespread 50s outside the door, a warmer start with the clouds overhead and moist air in place. for the afternoon, mid to upper 60s for antioch and concord. 64 in san francisco. it will be breezy once again and if you are going to see the giants play this afternoon, be aware of that. opening day on the bay, it will be breezy as well. 67 for mountain view and 67 morgan hill with a significant warm up for the week ahead. a look at that for you coming up. anger and controversy over shadowing today's playoff game between the golden state warriors and los angeles clippers. there is an audio recording, allegedly of donaldsterling, the owner of the clippers, going on a racist rant.

allie rasmus is live at oracle where sterling's open players and coaches are quite angry. >> reporter: tip off for game 4 starts at 12:30 this afternoon. by then, these stands will be packed with more than 19,000 people, and sterling is the center of controversy caught on this audio recording. plan nbc commissioner adam silver said that the organization is looking into the matter and the recording and some ofsterling's defenders including the clippers' president believing there is doubt that the voice on the recording belongs to sterling, but the clippers' players and coaches are offended at the views expressed. >> we are going after something important for us, something

stayed up all night to attend prayer vigils. people celebrated across the world and here in the bay area. last night, worshippers packed the cathedral christ of light in oakland for mass. the south bay is also remembering pope john ii. a 7-foot bronze statue will be displayed today in santa clara. a special outdoor mass begins at 2:00 with a procession at 4:00. the church pastor said that the statue honors the man and is an expression of gratitude and love for his teachings and tireless work. a 23-year-old woman is in santa rita jail accused of stabbing her 7-month-old son in

a livermore park. she is not identified but reportedly is from the san jose area. there was a call of a woman acting erratically and running her car into the rockwall at del valle park. the driver was gone, but two hours later, they located a woman walking with a lifeless baby in her arms. investigators say they believe the boy had been stabbed several times with a pocket knife. >> on the scene at the time attempted to resist tate the child but the child was declared dead by paramedics. >> the woman when what appeared to be self-inflicted wounds while investigators are searching for the motive saying that the mother had been battling depression. 23-year-old sarah krueger, along with her boyfriend, ryan scott warner, are charged in the death of her toddler, 3-

year-old kailey slusher. a hearing is scheduled for tomorrow in which a judge will hear a notion free krueger on $1 million bail. both have been held without bail since february 2. prosecutors claim that krueger and warner beat to death the little girl and hid her body in a freezer. a 17-year-old is recovering from serious injuries after being shot. the teen stumbled into his father's home last night at 5:00 after being shot in the chest. anyone with information asked to call the petaluma police department. despite a billion dollar project to modernize mineta-san jose international airport, officials say that the case of the teenager that stowed away to hawaii exposes gaps. last weekend, a boy climbed a 6- foot fence and stowed away in the wheel well of the plane.

the upgrade includes a plan to bolster prim security and said that changes could take months to complete. specialists are recommending better surveillance cameras including night vision systems. new information about a measle's outbreak that has infected nearly 60 people in california. the centers for disease control and preventions 11 of those people were infected in a doctor's office or hospital. 130 people in 13 states have come down with the measles, most cases in california and new york. and the cases involve people who traveled to the philippines have a recent epidemic have caused 20,000 people to be sick. and many are upset about the seahawk's green and blue on the inside of bart cars. the poles inside will give the passengers standing stand

friday's storm but a a little in a few areas. again, you know, we will take what we can get. it's kind of nice to see the wet weather continue for a little while longer. we will do an aboutface with the weather pattern and see a huge weather warm up. i'll show that you in just a moment but first, a look at the radar. mentioned it a little while ago, really hard to pick up on the mist and drizzle falling below the radar, a little bit of light shower activity here east of fairfield along i-80. but we, again, are seeing light rain in areas like santa rosa reporting some and across the east bay and the south bay, reports of drizzle and mist. so that is to be aware of for your morning hours. it will be with us by the afternoon, though, dry, and we will be breezy once again for the second half of the day. prepare for that. but as we get into the work

week ahead, take a look at the climb with temperatures moving in the upward direction to wednesday when the temperatures will peak and the hottest locations are expected to be 90 degrees. outside our door this morning, soggy conditions and 51 in napa. 52 in walnut creek. 51 in hayward. 53 in redwood city, upper 40s and low 50s for santa rose a novato and napa, most cases, several degrees warmer. for the afternoon, partly cloudy skies and breezy conditions. 69 for napa. 67 for san rafael, and upper 60s for antioch and livermore, 67. san jose, 66. 66 los gatos, and breezy and cloudy in half moon bay. the extended forecast, the call for the drizzle will last through the morning hours and clear out for the second half of the afternoon. morning fog expected as we get back to work on monday with the moist air in place with the

ridge of high pressure building in and take a look at the jump. on monday, a notable jump issue anywhere from 8 to 10 degrees especially for inland communities, and then as we get into tuesday, another jump, and then wednesday, the temperatures will peak near 90 degrees for the inland communities, mid-80s around the bay, and 70s along the coast. as we get into thursday, our temperatures will trail off and pull back just a bit, and we will remain very warm, mostly sunny skies and upper 80s for the inland cities and upper 70s for the bay and upper 60s at the coast. back to the desk. and a new method designed to lower shipping costs and get passengers out faster. the e-commerce giant amazon is delivering with it's own delivery network. many experts say that the game

but it is overshadowed by racist remarks made by clippers owner donald sterling. >> if you want to broadcast that you are associated with black people. do you have to? > >> the website site tmz had a recording believed to be sterling arguing with his girlfriend. it was recorded this month. sterling objected to his girlfriend who is bi-racial posting a tote toe of herself with magic johnson on instagram. the reported remarks have outraged current and former players. >> if they want to be rise sift, that is their thing. when you are in a position of power and you can take jobs and economic opportunity from people, that's what crosses the line. >> clippers and warrior players are angry over the alleged comments and they remain focused on the playoff game.

sterling will knot attend the game at oracle arena. they are already planning a demonstration at game five at the staple center in los angeles. controversy has surrounded sterling before. he is a 80-year-old billionaire and back in 2,005. he paid an undisclosed amount of money that claimed he tried to force nonkoreans out of apartments and in 2009. he paid a record $3.7 million penalty issued from the justice department for rental discrimination. he is married for more than 50 years. last month, his wife filed a lawsuit recording that his latest mistress embezzled $2 million. some of the biggest stars in the basketball world are sounding off. magic johnson said he will never attend a clippers game as long as sterling owns the team. it as black eye for the nba. >> kobe said he could never

rina in a stabbing death of her 7 month old son in a livermore park. the woman has not yet been identified but she is reportedly from the san jose area. authorities received a call at 10:30 yesterday morning about a woman acting erratically and ramming into a rook wall at a road in. found a damaged honda on the side of the road but the driver was gone. then about two hours later, they low kateed a woman walking with a lifeless baby in her arms. investigators say they believe the boy had been stabbed several times with a pocket knife. >> officers are on the scene at the time attempted to resuscitate. the child was declared dead by paramedics. >> police say the woman had what appeared to be self- inflicted wounds while investigators are still searching for the motive, they say the mother has been battling depression. a napa mother accused of killing her daughter is looking to get out of jail.

23-year-old sarah kruger along with her boyfriend, ryan scott warner, are charged in the death of 3-year-old caylee slusher. a hearing is scheduled tomorrow in which a judge will hear a defense motion to free kruger on one million dollars bail. both defendants have been held without bail in the napa county jail since february 2nd. prosecutors claim kruger and warner beat the death, the little girl, and then hid body in a freezer. a billion dollar project in san jose international airport. south bay officials say the teenager who stowed away on a flight to hawaii exposes gaps at the airport. san jose councilman calls the case a wake-up call. a boy climbed the fence and income into the wheel well of the plane bound for maui. $1.3million upgrade includes a plan to bolster security and changes could take months to complete. security specialists recommend better surveillance cameras, including night vision systems.

of the vehicle on highway 101 and hit a tree. the driver of the honda civic was also killed after losing control and rolling several times. causing quite a back-up. one man died on interstate 780 and the pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash in oakland. whale watchers saw a dramatic sight in monterey bay when a pack of 20 orcas attacked the mother gray whale and calf. the chronicle reports the struggle lasted for more than 2 hours and lasted by dozens on whale watching stores. the calf did not survive. an unusual number of anchovies has been affecting wildlife including whales. 50 humpback whales spotted between point joe and point lobos. we have new information about a dog that got shocked in oakland. her dog, mickey, now out of an east bay vet hospital.

15 crew members have been arrested including the ship's captain. this morning, a u.s. submarine scanning the bottom of the indian ocean for the malaysia jet. it's the 15th search for flight 370. may have been hurt on april 8th. malaysia is scheduled to make its report on that missing plane public next week. president obama said the u.s. will continue to help in the search for the missing plane. the president made that announcement this morning after meeting with the country's prime minister in kuala lumpor. >> i want to express the deepest condolences of the american people and all the families who lost loved ones on the flight. asian, american, chinese. >> president obama also called on the malaysian government to

state democrats may find a way to change the bullet train project. they want to pay with the cap and trade program. it requires an ebusiness that emits more than 25,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide for the solution. to date, that program has raised $653 billion. that money is supposed to be used for programs that cut down on pollution but opponents say the rail project generates emissions instead of reducing them. a lack of funding could cut off amtrak rail to some towns in california, kansas, texas, and new mexico. amtrak said it doesn't have the
